Winter Really IS Coming!

A few months ago I signed up for a "Game of Quilts" Challenge over at the BadAss Quilters Society. I like to do challenges like this occasionally so that I am forced out of my comfort zone and do something besides AnglePlay® quilts.
Now, I've read the books but I've never seen the tv series for Game Of Thrones, which the challenge is based upon. Of course I waited until the last minute to start my little quilt so I really did not have time to watch any of the series but I realized as I began designing that the pictures in my head probably don't match the tv series. I did an internet search and was relieved to find an endless supply of photos and was really inspired by a poster on Deviant Art that is claimed to be an original by several people. In about 24 hours, from start to finish, I created my interpretation of a hungry direwolf just as snow begins to fall.
I used only the fabrics sent in the challenge fabric with no additions. It is raw edge applique using patchwork and selvedges to give it texture. The eye glitters with hot fix crystals and straight line quilting gives the hint of fur. Machine embroidery adds snow crystals beginning to creep in, while the direwolf's teeth drip with crimson blood from its latest meal.
I'll add the link for voting in September when it opens up.
